DeskCamera Options Explained

Most users do not need to change anything here. To open OPTIONS, click Stop, then click OPTIONS.

Application

OPTIONS > Application with Multi-user mode, Lock Settings and Enable Browser

SettingWhat it does
Multi-user mode: Shared / Per-userHow this PC appears in the NVR/VMS when several Windows users sign in.
Lock Settings / Unlock SettingsLocks the sources and options for all Windows users on this PC. Only in Per-user.
Enable BrowserLets you manage DeskCamera from a web browser. When it is turned off, Configure in Browser is gray.

General

OPTIONS > General with the ports, the hotkey, the RTSP URL format and Require Media Approval

SettingWhat it does
ONVIF port, RTSP port: Auto / FixedAuto: DeskCamera chooses the port. Fixed: you type the port number. A fixed ONVIF port works only in Multiple channels mode. If DeskCamera asks to reserve the ONVIF port or the RTSP port, click Yes.
Enable Ctrl+Alt+D hotkeyCtrl+Alt+D opens the DeskCamera window.
Hidden mode(Ctrl+Alt+D)Hides the tray icon; the window opens only with Ctrl+Alt+D. Needs Enable Ctrl+Alt+D hotkey turned on.
Screens RTSP url / Webcams RTSP urlHow DeskCamera names the RTSP URLs. A change resets the stream settings of all screens or all webcams. Write down your video settings first.
Require Media ApprovalEvery screen and webcam stays off until you approve it, also the ones you already use.

Video and Audio

OPTIONS > Video with Allow MF SW encoder, SPS/PPS NAL aggregate and Timestamping strategy

Compatibility

OPTIONS > Compatibility with Compatibility mode, SOAP tricks and Limit ONVIF tokens

Compatibility modeTurn it on only if your NVR/VMS has problems with DeskCamera.
SOAP tricksSpecial fixes for exacqVision, Avigilon VMS, Dahua and Milestone XProtect.
Limit ONVIF tokensSome NVRs need it, for example Reolink. Turning it on or off resets the stream settings of all video sources. Write down your video settings first.

Updates

Logs

Factory Reset

The red Factory Reset button is at the bottom right of every page. It returns every setting to its default, except Multi-user mode and the license. It removes the sources you added and the App Password. It sets the ports to Auto, and the ONVIF User and password to admin/admin. Change the user name and password in the NVR/VMS too. In Shared mode, this applies to all Windows users. Write down your sources and settings first.
