Fix Reolink NVR Connection Issues
Last Updated 17 days ago

Use this article if a Reolink NVR cannot connect to DeskCamera or cannot add it correctly, even when the DeskCamera address and camera login are correct.

Some Reolink NVRs need an additional compatibility setting in DeskCamera.

Enable the Reolink compatibility setting

1) Open DeskCamera on the PC.

2) Stop the camera if it is currently running.

3) Open Options.

DeskCamera Options menu and Stop button

4) Open Compatibility.

5) Enable Limit ONVIF tokens.

6) Go back and start the camera again.

7) Remove DeskCamera from the Reolink NVR and add it again. This is important because the NVR may keep the old camera information until the camera is added again.

If it still does not connect

  • Confirm the Reolink NVR is using the current DeskCamera ONVIF address.
  • Confirm the ONVIF camera login is correct.
  • Confirm Windows Firewall or another firewall is not blocking the DeskCamera ports.
  • Restart DeskCamera and try adding it to the Reolink NVR again.

For general NVR/VMS connection checks, see NVR/VMS Cannot Find DeskCamera or Show Live Video.

If the NVR asks for or rejects the username or password, see NVR/VMS Asks for a Username or Password.

For firewall and port checks, see Ports used by DeskCamera and Configuring firewall rules.
