9. Update DeskCamera to a New Version

Use this article to update DeskCamera to a new version. DeskCamera keeps your settings.

Update DeskCamera

When a new version exists, New version available appears at the top of the window.

  1. Click New version available.

  2. Click Update now.

  3. DeskCamera downloads the new version. The camera keeps running.

  4. DeskCamera closes. The NVR/VMS shows no video until DeskCamera starts again.

  5. If Windows asks for permission, click Yes.

  6. DeskCamera starts again. If Camera Settings shows Offline, click Start.

Update later or cancel

  • If you click Later, New version available stays at the top, so you can update later.

  • To cancel the download, click the x next to Updating, and click Yes to confirm. The camera and the Watchdog keep running.

Check for a new version yourself

  1. Click Stop.

  2. Click OPTIONS > Updates.

  3. Click Check for updates. If a new version exists, New version available appears. If not, DeskCamera shows nothing.

  4. Click << BACK, then click Start.

When Auto check updates is turned on, DeskCamera checks for new versions by itself.

If it does not work

  • If you click No when Windows asks for permission, DeskCamera stays closed. Open DeskCamera again.
  • If the update fails, install the new version yourself. See 3. Installation.
