Camera Details: Check Your Streams
Last Updated 21 hours ago

Use this article to check the streams of your camera: the video format, the resolution, the FPS and the RTSP URL of each stream.

Open Camera details

While the camera runs, click the Info button (i) in Started Cameras.

Started Cameras with the Info button

The left side: the sources and their streams

The left side lists the sources and their streams: MainStream (the full-quality stream for recording) and SubStream (a smaller stream that needs less network bandwidth). A webcam usually has one stream, FixedWebcamName.

Each stream has a tag:

  • HW: the graphics card compresses the video. This uses less processor power.
  • HW with a half-filled dot in front: the graphics card does part of the work.
  • CPU: the processor compresses the video. This uses more processor power.
  • Gray DIRECT: DeskCamera sends the source's video unchanged, for example from an RTSP camera.

The right side: the settings of the stream

Select a stream. The right side shows its Video Encoder, Resolution, FPS, Bitrate limit, Kbps and Audio Encoder. It also shows the RTSP URL (the direct address of one stream) with the copy icon, and the Preview button.
