Use this article when your NVR/VMS, video player, or another system asks for a direct RTSP stream address.

DeskCamera can show a separate RTSP URL for each available stream, such as MainStream or SubStream.

Copy the RTSP URL

1) Open DeskCamera and make sure the camera is started.

2) In Started Cameras, click the Info button for the camera.

3) In Camera Details, select the stream you want to use.

4) Copy the RTSP URL shown on the right side of the window.

5) Paste that URL into the NVR/VMS, video player, or other system that should receive the stream.

Important notes

The RTSP URL works only while DeskCamera is running and the selected stream is available.

If you open the stream from another computer, make sure that computer can reach the DeskCamera PC over the network and that the RTSP port is allowed by the firewall. For firewall details, see Ports used by DeskCamera and Configuring firewall rules.

If you change the camera mode, network address, ports, or enabled media sources, check the current RTSP URL again. The NVR/VMS may need to be updated with the new address.
