Copy a direct RTSP address when your NVR/VMS or video player asks for a stream URL. Each MainStream and SubStream has its own address.

Copy the address

1. Open DeskCamera and click Start if the camera is stopped.

2. Under Camera Settings > Started Cameras, click the camera's Info button.

   

3. In Camera details, select the stream under the source, for example MainStream or SubStream. A webcam usually has one stream, FixedWebcamName.

4. Click the copy icon at the right of the RTSP URL box.

   

5. Paste it into your NVR/VMS or video player.

Choose the right screen

Local screen names follow the display numbers shown in Windows Settings > System > Display where possible. Click Identify there to see which monitor is Display 1, Display 2, and so on.

Copy each screen's address separately. Do not build an address from its name.

If you set up DeskCamera over Remote Desktop first, check the address of the first remote screen after DeskCamera first runs at the PC itself. The address can change one time. See Use DeskCamera with Remote Desktop.

If the stream does not open

If Camera details shows "Streaming was not started", the stream is not running. Click Start in the main window.

Keep DeskCamera running and the source enabled and approved if approval is required. The receiving computer must be able to reach the DeskCamera PC and its RTSP port. See Ports Used by DeskCamera and Firewall Rules.

Copy the address again after changing the PC's IP address, ports, camera mode, or RTSP URL naming. Update the receiving system if the address changed.
