Use this article if DeskCamera cannot start and shows an error that port 8090 or the ONVIF device service address is already in use.
The full error may mention:
Failed to listen on prefix http://+:8090/onvif/device_service/
What it means
DeskCamera cannot use the selected ONVIF port because another program or another camera on the same PC is already using it.
The ONVIF port is used by the NVR/VMS to find and control the camera. It is different from the browser management port.
What to do first
1) Update DeskCamera to a newer version.
2) Restart the PC.
3) Start DeskCamera again.
If the error remains
- Check whether another DeskCamera camera or another ONVIF service is already using port 8090.
- Change the DeskCamera ONVIF port to another free port.
- Update firewall rules if the ONVIF port was changed.
- If several Windows users use the same PC, check the DeskCamera multi-user setup.
