Frequently Asked Question
Use this article if you cannot sign in to DeskCamera browser management because the browser management password was forgotten.
The reset must be done from a browser opened on the DeskCamera PC. It cannot be started from another computer on the network.
For general browser management setup, see Managing DeskCamera from a Web Browser.
Reset the password
1) On the DeskCamera PC, open the browser management sign-in page and click Forgot password?.
2) Click Create reset code. Windows administrator access to this PC is required for the next step.
3) DeskCamera shows the file that contains the one-time reset code. Open that file on the DeskCamera PC as a Windows administrator.
If Windows does not let you open the file directly, open Notepad as administrator, then open the file path shown on the page.
4) Copy the reset code from the file, paste it into Reset code, and click Reset password.
5) Create a new browser management password and sign in.
Important notes
The reset code expires after a short time. If it expires, start the reset again and create a new code.
This resets only the browser management password. It does not change the ONVIF camera login used by the NVR/VMS. For that login, see NVR/VMS Asks for a Username or Password.
It also does not change the DeskCamera App Password. For that password, see Protect DeskCamera with an App Password.
