4. Offline Installation and License Activation

Use these steps to install DeskCamera and activate a perpetual license on a PC without Internet access.

Before you start

On another computer with Internet access, download the DeskCamera installer, your license file (.lic), and any required Windows components. Copy them to the DeskCamera PC. See 1. System Requirements.

If the installer cannot download required components, install them manually first, then install DeskCamera.

Activate the license

On the DeskCamera PC: create the request

  1. Click License information > Import.

    If you see Activate but no Import, click Delete License and click Yes. This does not delete your .lic file. Then click Import.

  2. On the Perpetual tab, select Offline Activated License file (.act).

  3. Click Create activation request. File Explorer opens the folder (C:\ProgramData\DeskCamera\Offline) with the .req request file.

  4. Click Cancel to close the window. The request file is already saved.

  5. Copy the .req file and your .lic file to a computer with Internet access.

On a computer with Internet access: create the activation file

  1. Open https://www.activationservice.net.

  2. Under Activation request file, click Choose File and select the .req file.

  3. Under License, click Choose File and select your .lic file.

  4. Select the I understand… check box.

  5. Click ACTIVATE. The browser downloads the activation file (.act).

  6. Copy the .act file to the DeskCamera PC.

On the DeskCamera PC: import the activation file

  1. Click License information > Import.

  2. On the Perpetual tab, select Offline Activated License file (.act).

  3. Click ... and select the .act file.

  4. Click OK. Then click OK in the message.

  5. Check that Activation shows Completed.

Create the request on the PC you want to activate. Repeat the process for each PC.

Renew an installed license

If this PC already has a license, follow 5. Remote Deployment and Configuring DeskCamera.
