Frequently Asked Question

Enable 4K resolution support
Last Updated 16 days ago

Use this article to stream screens larger than Full HD, up to 4K.

Important: The Factory Reset in this article returns all DeskCamera settings to the defaults. It removes the sources that you added, and it resets the ONVIF User and password. Write down your settings before you start.

  2. Open the DeskCamera installation folder. By default, this is C:\Program Files\DeskCamera.

  3. Open the file DeskCamera.exe.Config in a text editor.

  4. Find these lines:

The configuration file with the setting VideoResolutionLimit and the value FHD

    FHD
  5. Change FHD to DCI4K.

The configuration file with the value DCI4K

    DCI4K
  6. Save the file.

Reset the settings

Good to know

  • A DeskCamera update keeps this change. If you select Remove old configuration files when you install a new version, do all three parts again.

If it does not work

  • If Windows does not let you save the file, open the text editor as administrator. Then open the file again.
  • If Resolution still shows 1920 × 1080, check that the file says DCI4K. Then do the reset again.
