DeskCamera can stream one or several screens during a Microsoft Remote Desktop connection.

Find the remote screens

In Camera Settings > Started Cameras > Video Sources, RDPDisplay is the remote session's main display. Other screens appear as RDPDisplay2, RDPDisplay3, and so on.

RDPDisplay normally continues on the main local screen's existing NVR/VMS channel. Add other remote screens as extra channels. For direct addresses, see Copy the Direct RTSP URL of a Stream.

Change a remote screen's settings

1. In DeskCamera, click Stop.

2. Open Video & Audio Settings and select the remote screen, such as RDPDisplay2.

   

3. Change the settings of the remote screen.

4. If Require Media Approval is turned on, click Approve for each remote screen that shows it. See Approve Media Sources (Require Media Approval).

5. Click Start.

6. Check the picture in your NVR/VMS.

Audio cannot be added to remote screens.

Change other sources

In a Remote Desktop session, you can also add, change and remove App window, RTSP, HTTP and image sources. Click Stop first.

• You can change the settings of Audio only sources and remove them. Their pencil button is gray.
• The same applies to a wall or Picture in picture source that uses only RTSP, HTTP and image sources.
• Change screen area and webcam sources at the local desktop. Do the same for walls and Picture in picture sources that use them.
• In the Audio list, choose Select Audio (no sound), Windows Sounds or an RTSP stream's own sound. Choose other sound devices at the local desktop.
• If an image file is on the PC that you connect from, the image source works only during the session.

Disconnect safely

1. Leave the camera running and click Safely close RDP in Camera Settings.

   

2. If Windows asks for permission, click Yes. The session closes, DeskCamera hides, and streaming returns to the local screens after a few seconds.

Important: The button needs administrator permission.

Do not sign out of Windows: signing out closes applications.

Check after changing displays

RDPDisplay follows the remote session's main display. With three or more screens, the other pictures can exchange places between connections. Check each channel after changing the layout.
