Frequently Asked Question

Use this article to hide the DeskCamera tray icon. The tray icon is the DeskCamera icon in the notification area, at the bottom right of the screen, next to the clock. In Hidden mode, other users of this PC do not see DeskCamera there. You open the DeskCamera window only with Ctrl+Alt+D.

Turn on Hidden mode

1. Click Stop.

2. Click OPTIONS > General.

3. Under HOTKEY, if Enable Ctrl+Alt+D hotkey is turned off, turn it on.

4. Turn on Hidden mode(Ctrl+Alt+D).

   

5. Click << BACK, then click Start.

Open and hide the window

• To open the DeskCamera window, press Ctrl+Alt+D.
• To hide the window, minimize it. DeskCamera keeps running.
• Do not close the window. Closing the DeskCamera window stops the camera and exits DeskCamera.

Good to know

• To turn Hidden mode on or off on many PCs, use the command /SetHiddenMode 1 or /SetHiddenMode 0. See 5. Remote Deployment and Configuring DeskCamera.

If it does not work

• If Hidden mode(Ctrl+Alt+D) is gray, turn on Enable Ctrl+Alt+D hotkey. If the settings are locked, see A Setting Is Gray or Cannot Be Changed.
• If Ctrl+Alt+D does not open the DeskCamera window, see DeskCamera Does Not Start.
